Who is Joseph Ducreaux? Well he was a 19th century French painter. Most importantly, he is not the writer of this newsletter. I prefer to remain anonymous.
This was not arrived at lightly. A few years ago, when I was active on another forum which will go unnamed, I used a common User ID that I used for practically everything else. A woman (well, I’m guessing it was a woman because they used a woman’s name and avatar) took offense at something I said and went on a hunt for my personal information. She tied in things like my LinkedIn account and an account I used for singing online, and proceeded to use my personal information against me.
This was a wakeup call. There are crazies on the internet, and if you’re not careful, they can find out where you live. So hence in the style of Alexander Hamilton and John Jay who wrote The Federalist Papers under the pseudonym of “Publius”, I will write as “Joseph Ducreaux”.
Some might consider this cowardly, but if Alexander Hamilton and John Jay were cowards, I’ll wear the title “coward” proudly.
I am a Catholic Christian Conservative with Libertarian tendencies. I believe strongly in the First and Second amendments to the Constitution. The First, because we cannot self govern if we do not have free and unrestricted discourse and the Second because it protects all the rest. I will say what’s on my mind, and I will encourage you to say what’s on yours. Commenters who either agree or disagree with me are welcome, but I would like to see comments that shed more light than heat. If your ratio of heat to light is consistently bad, you’ll be warned, and if it doesn’t improve you’ll be banned.
So let’s do this. I think it might be fun. Enlightening possibly for both you and me.
I am a Methodist Christian Conservative with Libertarian tendencies. I believe strongly in the First Amendment and the Second amendment with reservations. The First, because we cannot self govern if we do not have free and unrestricted discourse and the Second because I will never go into the boxcar quietly. I speak the truth and I will encourage you to speak truth as well. Commenters who either agree or disagree with me are welcome. I don't mind changing my opinion. (I am going to follow you on Twitter.)
